"We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."
— Franklin D. Roosevelt
Here's the updated, cleaned-up version:
Welcome to Dashwood Academy Prep
Where classical learning meets modern opportunity.
We’re honored that you’re considering Dashwood Academy Prep for your family. Choosing the right educational path is one of the most important decisions you’ll make, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Dashwood offers a unique approach: rigorous, in-person classical enrichment built on character, scholarship, and community—designed to complement the accredited online education that families select independently (for example, Washington Connections Academy). We are an independent enrichment program
A Commitment to Equity and Access
At Dashwood, we believe academic excellence should never be limited by zip code or income level. Our program is built on the idea that every student—regardless of background—deserves access to high-quality enrichment, mentorship, and opportunity. Through thoughtful design and a family-centered approach, we remove barriers and expand access for students who may not thrive in traditional school models.
We aim to cultivate both excellence and equity, so that all students grow in knowledge, confidence, and character—prepared for college and equipped to lead.
"We believe every child deserves access to exceptional enrichment—programs that develop intellect, nurture character, and prepare students to lead with purpose."
— Dashwood Academy Prep Founding Vision
2025–2026 Founding Cohort (Closed)
Our founding cohort launched in September 2025 and is now underway. This opportunity was exclusively for founding families — families who are co-creators and builders, dedicated to working alongside us to develop this program from the ground up.
What founding families do: Parents serve as learning coaches for their students while working collaboratively with the Headmaster and volunteer board members to develop the program. Students are enrolled in accredited online programs (most chose Washington Connections Academy) and participate in coordinated study sessions, tutoring, and enrichment activities organized by founding families.
Founding family enrollment is now closed.
2026 Launch Year - Applications Opening Soon
Dashwood Academy Prep will open broader enrollment for our 2026 launch as a fully developed enrichment program. We invite families who share our values—scholarship, character, and access—to join us.
lease note: As a new program focused on personalized learning, enrollment will be limited to maintain small cohort sizes and ensure a high-quality experience. We encourage early application.
Dashwood is not an SBE-approved private school yet but will be taking steps in that direction as outlined in our 3-5 year plan.
Who We're Looking For
Dashwood seeks students who:
Show academic curiosity or promise
Value small, supportive learning environments
Demonstrate integrity, motivation, or resilience
Are ready to grow intellectually, socially, and personally
We welcome students from all backgrounds and believe diversity of thought, experience, and culture strengthens our community.

Important Program Clarification
Dashwood Academy Prep is NOT a partnership with Washington Connections Academy or any other online program. We are an independent educational enrichment program designed to enhance your child's education.
Parents enroll their children independently in accredited online programs (such as Washington Connections Academy) for official credentials, while selecting Dashwood Academy Prep for optional supplemental enrichment and support. These are two separate choices that work together.
Accreditation Source: All official coursework, records, diplomas, and state testing are managed by the family's chosen accredited online program. Dashwood provides enrichment instruction and academic support.
Dashwood does not claim or imply affiliation with any online program. Any coordination with Washington Connections Academy or other programs is framed strictly as supporting families who are already enrolled there—not a formal partnership or accreditation link.
